Jean Miller

 Jean Miller, 86, of Cranford, NJ, recently passed away after a health battle. She will be greatly missed by her family and all her good friends in the community. Some of her favorite things included thin-crust pizza, the Sunday NY Times crossword puzzle, Hugh Jackman, and knitting scarves, hats and blankets for others. She married Seymour Miller and they lived in Scotch Plains and had 2 daughters, Dori and Marly. In the 1970s when she started as a career woman, people used to stop her in the street thinking she was Mary Tyler Moore, which always made her smile. Jean loved a good laugh, and the biggest one came from the fact that her 2nd husband Norman was also a Miller—she always joked that the reason she married him was so she wouldn't have to change her driver's license! In retirement, after a career as a managing editor, she enjoyed teaching people how to knit & crochet at Union County College as "The Knit Witch." She also loved spending time with her two daughters and her brother Albert & sister-in-law Carol. She and Norman had some wonderful trips abroad to London and Paris. Most of all, she was the best friend a person could have: if you had a problem she was always there to listen and give support along with excellent advice. Hopefully now she is happily chatting away with her beloved husband Norman at a diner in the sky. Jean’s visitation will be on Saturday September 28, 2024 from 1:00-3:00PM, at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, where her Service of Remembrance will follow at 3:00PM Saturday.
