Thomas Leo Callahan, Jr, 88, passed away on November 15, 2023.  He was born in Belmont, Mass, on July 11, 1935. He graduated Belmont HS and went on to graduate Babson College. During his college summers he worked as a waiter at Hulett’s Landing’s Hotel on Lake George where he met and eventually married Alice Brady, who predeceased him in 2015.

Tom worked as a stock broker for various firms on the NYSE before finishing his career at UBS in Westfield. He was an active member of Echo Lake Country Club where he enjoyed golf and was a Board Chairman for 10 years. 

During that time, he founded the ELCC Platform Tennis Program, which thrives to this day.

He was predeceased by his younger brother, Bill, this past February. The two of them played 10 straight Finals of the Member/Guest paddle tournament, winning seven.

Tom is survived by his sister-in-law, Gail Callahan, a son, William Terence Jermaine Callahan, a daughter, Deidre McMeekin, a son-in-law, William D. McMeekin, a granddaughter, Erin P. McMeekin, and a grandson, Lance Cpr. Liam T. McMeekin. Services will be private. Arrangements by Gray Funeral Directors of Westfield. Please go to: www.grayfuneralhomes.com to offer condolences.
